Christmas Decorations With Blue Walls
It's not a secret I love all things blue and gray. So when I decided to do a blue Christmas theme for our new flocked tree this year, it didn't surprise everyone! This Christmas I'm taking you on a tour of our home that features our blue-themed Christmas tree. To work with the golden hues I already from previous years, I mixed in my blue and silver Christmas decorating ideas along with the greenery and gold shimmering garland to make a cohesive look, with a strong emphasis on my new blue glass Christmas ornaments and blue Christmas ribbon. Don't be afraid to use some of those older blue Christmas ball ornaments; those are never outdated! It really gives a fresh look to the season when you break from tradition and go with blue white and silver Christmas decorations. I hope you enjoy the inspiration to create your own dark or light blue Christmas tree with blue decorations and light blue Christmas ornaments!
Details of Christmas tree with blue decorations
- Our tree is a 7'5″ tall, flocked Christmas tree from King of Christmas. It's pre-lit with 750 lights. This is my first flocked tree and I am hooked – hook, line and sinker. I'm amazed at what a difference the white snow makes with the lights and ornaments! Every color pops, every light looks soft and glowy and the entire effect is whimsical, soft and full of Christmas magic.
- Ornaments on the flocked tree are from Frontgate. They are similar to their new blue ornament collection.

Today's Style for the Blue Tree
Layer it up.
Layers are what give a tree that designer look and depth. Having the same color palette, but in different shades, and layered with ribbon, ornament and tree pick will pull the whole thing together to make it look straight out of a magazine! Tips to create a Blue Christmas Theme
Use ornament collections to bring a cohesive look to the tree. Using traditional blue Christmas ball ornaments is a great option if you are stuck on ideas! Another idea which I know you'll love, make a shopping trip out of and have some of the old and get you some new blue glass Christmas ornaments.
Incorporate ribbons that emphasize color theme of your tree – for me I love blue Christmas ribbon. Layer one to two shades of ribbon for more impact.
Add in tree picks to add more color and fullness. I went for a light blue Christmas tree so I chose softer colors. Picks are an affordable way to add sparkle, personality and fill in any holes in your tree!
Use as many ornaments in similar color tones for maximum effect! I used both dark and light blue Christmas ornaments to add contrast. If budget allows, splurge on a luxury set of ornate ornaments to add the drama, and then buy a budget friendly set in contrasting colors to really amp up your theme!
Mixing other colors with Blue Christmas theme
This year I may have gone with blue white and silver Christmas decorations, but every year I add something new to my holiday decor collection. If you haven't seen my other holiday themes, be sure to check them out! I love each holiday and we celebrate it fully!

Flocked Tree
A flocked tree replicates the perfect look of fallen snow on a forest. This is the flocked tree, the King flocked tree, I use throughout my home, and comes in a slim version. The King is my preferred because of it's uniform look and design. The Queen is equally as gorgeous but it has a more rustic, organic look. The Prince version is a King but at an accessible price.
